Getting Healthy

So, this is where we have been spending some time lately. Let me start off by saying that I am not particularly fond of exercise. I've stayed in shape doing sports I enjoy and then the past few years, chasing around a very active little boy has kept me going. But, in general, I am not a eat healthy, work out kind of person. We are trying to change that. We joined Lifetime and enjoy it so far. I've done yoga and that was interesting. Just like I am not a healthy person, I am not a relax and meditate person. Yoga is going to stretch my limitations in many ways - physically and mentally stepping out of my comfort zone. I think I will go back. I need to practice relaxing, though. The nice instructor was talking so softly and calmly and encouraging us to relax, enjoy our me time, etc, etc. I kept looking at the clock. So, its not exactly my kind of exercise. But, I will figure it out...getting out of your comfort zone is part of exercising anyway, isn't it? We've also tried the rock wall and that is more in my comfort zone. Something individual, intense, non-relaxing! I will definitely do that on a regular basis. And the pool....wow!!! Grey loved it. We can go and get in a great work out while they provide childcare for the kids. Grey had a blast and didn't want to leave the kids zone until we showed him the pool. He did the slide over and over and over and so on. He had a blast. So, that makes it easier for us to want to work out when we have Grey constantly asking to go back again! So, maybe someday I will work up enough courage to run - I hate running, but the idea of working towards a triathlon is very interesting to me. It may be a goal some where way (and i mean way) down the line. I have no idea how to start for that, but maybe someday....

Spring Break day 3

Our last day of fun was a busy one! We spent the morning in the pool at Mimi and Stace's. Even Ella got in on the fun! We all had a blast just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine! We decided we needed a little more seafood and headed downtown to the Houston Aquarium. It is an amazing place. We had a great meal, then Mimi and Stace took Ella home and we stayed and rode more rides, played more games, saw the tigers, and had a yummy dessert. After our afternoon at the Aquarium, Mimi and Stace kept the kids and let Billy and I have a date night out at Landrys (because we really needed more seafood!). It was a fantastic long weekend and we came home feeling like we had had a full weekend of events!

Spring Break day 2

The next day we got to go to the Houston Rodeo with Mimi and Stace. Ella stayed at their house with Nana San and Papa Karl and Grey got a special day all to himself. We started the day with Grey riding the mechanical bull. He did great, but the video is longer than 8 seconds and so I can't upload it!! We did the petting zoo (Grey was not a fan), rode lots of rides, played games, and watched the rodeo. It was a great, great day. Mimi and Stace made sure Grey got to do everything he wanted. It was perfect and we are so thankful they did this!

Spring Break day 1

Our first full day of our break we went down to Galveston. We saw a little bit of damage from Ike, but mostly the island is in good shape. It was windy and cold so we were not able to enjoy the beach as much as we would have liked. Grey was the only one brave enough to get into his bathing suit and get in the water! We had a fantastic lunch overlooking the waves and walked around The Strand as well. It was a great day!

Spring Break '09

We took a mini spring break this year and had a nice long weekend in Houston at Mimi and Staceys house. We started our Spring Break at Disney on Ice here in Dallas. The kids had a blast! I figured out neices would enjoy it, and I was pretty sure Grey would like it, but I never expected Ella to do so well. She sat entranced the entire show! I don't think she made one peep! The show was great and a great way to start our fun!

Greys Spring Concert

Grey had his Spring Concert at LSS pre-school. This will be his last concert there. The kids did such a good job. The theme was Easter and Greys class sang a song called "Yes Lord". Grey did really well and we were so proud of him!! He made me laugh though, because we dressed him in a white shirt, tie, and sweater vest. At home, he was so concerned that no one would see his tie. We convinced him that people could see it and he looked nice. But, when I got there, and he walked out on the stage, he had pulled his tie out again for everyone to see!! He sure is proud of that tie! Here is a little clip oh his class. Enjoy!

Ella!

Ella is 4 months!

Ella had her 4 month check up and all is well. Here are her stats:
Weight: 12.3 (10 - 25 %)
Length 24.5 inches (50 - 75%)
Head: 16 1/8 (25 - 50%)

She is doing great. She can roll over both ways. Is full of grins and giggles. She is very easy going and laid back. She doesn't fuss much. We are trying rice cereal. Last night was the first try and she seemed to really love it, but couldn't quite figure out how to eat it. She get all grinney-mcgrinner when I'd put the spoon to her mouth, but then she'd be grinning so much, the cereal would just roll right out of her mouth! Too cute!
